Scooby's Story
Scooby is an 11-month-old Great Dane/Mastiff mix weighing in at 101 pounds—and yes, he still has a little filling out to do! While he may gain a bit more weight with proper nutrition, he’s likely already reached his full height. This gentle giant came to us because he was simply too big for his previous home, but there’s so much more to Scooby than his size.

Scooby is incredibly friendly with people and loves attention, but he’s still learning how to navigate the world around him. He wasn’t well socialized with other animals early on, and as a result, he can be nervous in new situations—especially around other dogs. When he feels unsure, he may bark as a way to protect himself. At this time, we do know that Scooby is not a good fit for homes with cats, and he has not yet been introduced to other dogs since arriving unvaccinated.

He’s a sweet boy with a big heart, but he’ll need a patient and understanding family willing to help build his confidence and teach him basic manners. With the right guidance, Scooby has so much potential to grow into a well-adjusted and loyal companion.

Scooby is now up to date on vaccinations and has been neutered, so he’s ready for his next chapter. Please keep in mind that large breed dogs like Scooby come with increased costs for food, medical care, and space needs—but in return, you’ll get a whole lot of love.
