Scooby is a gentle soul with a heartbreaking story. Rescued from the meat trade in China in 2019, he came to ARF carrying the weight of past trauma. While those hardships made him shy and slow to trust, Scooby has always had the biggest heart and the sweetest personality. Shortly after arriving at ARF, Scooby was adopted into a loving home, where he thrived. Sadly, after the unexpected loss of his favorite person, Scooby has returned to ARF and is once again looking for a place to call home. Scooby is slowly coming out of his shell. When you go to take him outside, he makes soft, expressive noises, communicating his readiness. Once outside, he absolutely lights up; walks are his happy place, and they help him feel brave and confident. He's especially confident walking alongside other dogs, with whom he's very friendly. Scooby will thrive in a calm, patient home with a securely fenced yard and no young children. He may benefit from a gentle canine companion to help guide him. He isn't a fan of being hovered over, but with time, patience, and love, Scooby will open up and show you just how special he truly is.
