What kind of home would be best for me? Satch is a 12-pound unbelievably cute little senior that does not act his age. He was an owner release to a sister rescue prior to coming here. Satch is used to having a family and needs a home where his adopter or their family will be home most, if not all, day. Satch acts like royalty, and he demands loving attention from his subjects, you, and your family. This old guy walks on a leash but likes to get out in front of you and explore the world. This old dog will need taught, or retaught, new tricks, basic commands like sit, stay, come, down, etc.

Satch would do great in either a house or an apartment. Satch would do well with a solo adopter but would love being part of a family because he would have more people to seek love and affection from. He would do well in most any home and with children that are above toddler age. A home with a fence isn't a necessity, but a fenced in yard is a great safety feature for any dog. If an apartment is his new home, a couple of walks a day or a trip to the dog park would make Satch smile.

Satch does well in the car if he has a lap to sit on and a window to look out of. If you are driving solo he will still want to be on your lap, so a crate would provide both you a safe trip. Satch's two favorite things are people and car rides.

What is my personality like? Satch is friendly and expects to receive love and pets from everyone he meets. He does well with both dogs and cats. He LOVES car rides.

How do I act when I first meet new people? Since Satch has arrived here, it seems he really hasn't met a stranger. On rare occasions he'll take moment to warm to someone. However, it seems Satch believes everyone is here to provide him love and attention. If you walk Satch there's good possibility you'll need to reign him in a little as he likes to get ahead of you to explore and make new friends. Satch believes friends are everywhere and it is his job to brighten everyone's day.

Other tips and tidbits: Satch was born on 10/15/2011.

House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule if a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.
