Meet Sassy Rose! With a name like that, you know she’s a diva looking for an equally larger-than-life human to make each day an adventure!
Sassy Rose is an 11-month old, 46-pound female hound mix with an irresistible nose and eye patch. She’s located with our friends at APCSM in Brockton , MA. Being so young, we’d love to get her out of the shelter as soon as possible. Though cared for, it’s not a home for a puppy to develop and grow into a happy pet.
Sassy Rose is a puppy with an attitude and there lies the challenge! She is super active, never stops, and when excited, she gets very mouthy. She has been good with most other dogs, just meets them in her own sassy way and then is fine. She loves to play hard with fur-kids, so an equally energetic, super playful, young dog would be perfect for her. She must have an outlet for this energy or she’ll find other ways to occupy herself!
For the most part, Sassy Rose is house trained. She loves to go for hikes and walks – her hound sniffer keeps her very busy on the trails. An active couple with an active dog is the ideal situation for her, preferably a fenced-in yard to run free and expend energy. She has two restrictions: no cats due to her natural hound prey drive; no children due to her mouthiness.
Background: She is a rescue from Mississippi who was tied outside at a young age and allowed to grow without any adjustments to her collar. She has a scar to show for it. Her owners would only give her up if they were paid by a southern rescue. After time in a foster home, she made her way to APCSM! Those harsh days are behind her because she is always upbeat and ready for a good time.
