Sassy's Story

Sassy is a black, white and brown Jack Russell mix that is estimated to be born in January 2026. Small and as sweet as can be, she was rescued from a terrible situation and fostered by a compassionate citizen. She was taken home over night by one of our staff for behavior evaluation. Sassy prefers to be in the company of people; she barks when she is left alone. She we very gentle and respectful of the cats but was too intimidated by the large dogs to play. If she had more time to adjust to them, she would have done fine like she does with other puppies and small dogs. Sassy loves bones, treat stuffed/ peanut butter Kongs and stuffed toys. She knows how to fetch but can also self-entertain by throwing toys in the air and catching them. Sassy knows her name, has great recall, walks wonderfully on a leash. While she was at her sleep over, she was quiet in the crate overnight and didn't have any accidents. She does get car sick, otherwise we know that she is going to be an excellent dog. Sassy's ideal home would be with a young family or couple who has a lot of time and energy to raise a puppy. She suits her name well, because she wants all the attention and will let you know when she feels she's being ignored.

All HSGC pets come with their medical file that shows they have been spayed/neutered, vaccinated, heartworm tested, and current on heartworm/flea and tick prevention.
