Meet Sarah, the pup who seems to always be smiling! This easy-going hound mix is 5 years old and just under 52 lbs. She came to PK when her owner could no longer care for her due to an illness. Sarah is truly a delight to be around! She walks well on the leash and is fully house trained. She responds well to commands - especially when she’s rewarded with treats (like a true hound dog)! Because of her love of food, she could use help dropping a few of those extra pounds in her new home. She’d make a great companion to an owner or couple who can make her health and diet a priority, and she’d also make a wonderful addition to a family with children who can play with her and keep her active. Sarah is somewhat selective about her canine friend group and feels more comfortable around dogs smaller than her. She can be cat-tested if requested. Sarah does have an enlarged liver (the cause of it remains unknown) and has been prescribed a liver supplement to help manage her condition. She also urinates often and, although fully house-trained, she needs to be in a home that can accommodate frequent potty breaks. Are you able to provide this happy girl a loving home?
