Meet Saoirse! <br/><br/>This sweet girl was brought to an ER vet by her former owner for euthanasia because she hadn’t gone to the bathroom in days. Upon meeting her, the vet discovered she was actually a tiny, neglected dog who was so completely matted in feces and urine that it physically prevented her from relieving herself. Her body was swollen, inflamed, and at real risk of sepsis. <br/><br/>Her caring vet refused to euthanize her and instead helped get her to us at Miri's Haven. We got her shaved down immediately and treated her medical needs, Finally comfortable again, she is starting to heal and her personality is blossoming. <br/><br/>So far, Saoirse is a sweet, quiet and easy going girl. She is so happy all of the time and relieved to be clean, comfortable, and healthy. Her number one requirement in her forever home is that she finally receive all of the love and attention she has been denied for so long. Her ideal family loves snuggling (she has a masters degree in this) and lives in a home that is generally calm and quiet. She'd love to join a family where someone is home with her for much of the time - she doesn't love being left home alone but can manage it when needed. <br/><br/>Soairse LOVES treats, mealtime, and soft things. Her favorite places to snooze are on pillows or piles of clothes on a bed. Basically, a mattress alone won't do it - she needs another level of luxury. Princess & The Pea energy and we love it. She also adores rolling on the carpet on her back to show off her belly, and it's absolutely precious. <br/><br/>Saorise is housetrained, leash-trained, and great with other dogs. She rides well in the car and sleeps through the night. She has some trouble seeing but gets around well and navigates stairs like a pro. <br/><br/>This adorable girl is all happiness and love despite her rough first decade.
