Sandy's Story

Personality:
I'm very loyal, loving, playful, engaging, fearless, independent, and highly food motivated!

Education:
Fully crate and potty trained and comfortable spending time on my own

Favorite Activities:
Naps, being a personal vacuum (picking up any dropped food around her toddler human foster sibling)

Looking For:
A loving home where I can be close to my people and enjoy the sunshine (and some snacks). She is very low shedding, so her maintenance is easy!

Special Needs/Concerns:
none

Social media:
Instagram @theserialfoster

Bio:
Life could be paradise with Sandy!

Aloha! My name is Sandy. I've still got plenty of pep in my paws, and I'm the ideal little companion for anyone looking for a small loyal bestie. As they say, life can be a beach. After my beloved owner passed away, I suddenly found myself needing a new place to call home. Thankfully, I got a second chance, and I'm searching for a furever family to kick back and watch the sunset with.

I'm a loving, fearless little lady who forms strong bonds with my people. I love following my humans from room to room, napping beside you while you work, and making sure no snack crumb goes unnoticed. I'm food motivated and always ready to help with cleanup duty.

I get along well with other dogs, children, and pretty much everyone I meet. I'm not necessarily looking for a playmate-I'm more of a "let's peacefully coexist" kind of gal-but I'm happy sharing my space. When it comes to exercise, I'm the pawfect mix of easygoing and adventurous. I love daily walks, enjoy stopping to sniff the sand, and I'm polite on-leash. Even occasional hikes sound great!

Life with me is paradise- I'm fully potty trained, crate trained, and comfortable spending time on my own. My crate is my cozy little beach bungalow where I happily nap during the day and sleep soundly through the night without a peep. Now, I do have one quirky little habit: sometimes I decide my tail is public enemy number one. Every now and then, I'll bark at it or chase it. What can I say? It just keeps following me!

My ideal home could be just about anywhere. Whether you're an active family, a retiree, or someone who simply wants a low-maintenance companion, I'd fit right in. All I ask is for a loving home where I can be close to my people and enjoy the sunshine (and some snacks). I shed very little, so it's easy to maintain a clean house around me!

If you're looking for a sweet little Golden Girl who still has plenty of adventures left ahead of her, I think we'd make the pawfect match. Let's stick our paws in the sand and kick back with a pina colada together! The Animal Pad's Adoption Policy
We prioritize local San Diego applicants. We do not provide transport of dogs to other states, and don't allow the dogs to fly in the cargo of the plane. Our adoption process from start to finish, involves 3 standard forms, and 2 situational. All potential applicants must be capable of providing their adopted pet with routine and emergency veterinary care (yearly health checks, keeping vaccinations current, heartworm/flea preventatives, and immediate care in the event the animal is sick or injured). They are required to license their pet, and keep an identification tag on their pet at all times. All applicants must agree to a home check, and provide us with a veterinary reference, or personal references if you're a first-time pet owner. Our home checks are not to invade the privacy of the applicants, we do this to ensure the pet is going into a safe home. We do not discriminate against non-homeowners, or those living in apartments, condos, or otherwise. Our adoption fees vary from $150-1000. Applicants must agree in writing that if for any reason they are unable to keep or care for their pet, the pet will be surrendered back to our rescue and not re-homed, turned over to a shelter, pound, rescue, new owner, sold, etc. Adoption Application: https://theanimalpad.org/adoption-application/
