Sandy's Story

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.ATDR 3293This is Sandy...sadly, her beloved senior person had to go into a facility and there was no one left to care for this sweet girl. ATDR gladly stepped up and she's now sharing life in a comfortable foster home. She's a very shy baby and this transition hasn't been easy on her, but with love and gentle kindness she's quickly felt more secure being able to snuggle with her foster mom a lot. Sandy is a beautiful little doll who has enjoyed being spoiled too much by her person giving her things she shouldn't have to eat. She needs to lose a few pounds and get some careful exercise to be at a healthier weight for such a tiny girl. She will be finishing up her vetting and then be ready for a forever home.<br/>She will do best in a home as either an only pet or possibly with one other dog who won't frighten her.. A home that is fairly quiet without the commotion of kids would be most comfortable for her. She's a very sweet natured pup who would enjoy someone who either works from home or is retired, but young enough to outlive her. She would like nothing better than to have a warm lap to lie in pretty much all day long! She's easy to love and easy to live with. The other thing she will need is to go to a home that will be committed to taking this weight off her and making sure she lives at a healthier weight moving forward. She's been sleeping sweetly in a crate at her foster home, but would probably love sleeping in the big bed a lot more with someone to lie close to. So far, she seems to do her business outside since she's put out fairly often on a regular schedule. She scratches at the door when she wants to be let back in; however, she would be happier if you went out with her... If you pretty much meet these criteria and are looking for a wonderful little best friend and companion who will steal your heart in an instant, please submit an adoption application for Sandy. She's a special little girl who needs a special home where she will be shown she's well loved and cared for...a home where she will be fed properly no matter how she looks at you with those big beautiful eyes! If you are lucky enough to become her loving person, she will follow you around and be your precious little shadow and make you wonder how you ever lived life without her!
