Samson Great Pyrenees & Plott Hound Mix Ossining, NY

Samson is a stunning young dog.. He is super elegant and when he "moves out" into a trot he looks like a fancy little horse. He has exceptionally beautiful coloring orange tiger brindle with white and black markings. As he he is still a pup ( esp due to breed mix) he's lanky and lean and still growing. We expect he will fill out some but he will keep his refined shape!

Because he is young and hasn't seen much of the world he begins new experiences and meeting new people with caution. We think in his life before us Samson has had people invade his space and comfort zone enough that he figured safest bet for him is not to trust, depending on the person he may just hang back or if he feels they are too close will say so with a soft growl, hackles raised. As he is offered time to settle and quietly explore his true gentle nature Samsons soft energy and innocent sweetness emerges! He is also a "leaner" ,, Sam slinks up against our legs and lightly in.. sort of a love merge.. looks up at our faces and does the heart melting love gaze We are madly in love with Samson and he with ALL of us!!

He is a dog who follows his nose and can do so for as long as he is free to!! This dog is a an easy dog to walk.. he is completely relaxed in nature, responsive to his person. He checks in on his own and comes when asked! Watching him in the yards playing is a delightful pastime for us! samson can totally entertain himself.. tossing his toys in the air himself and then leaping up to catch them!!! ABSOLUTELY HILARIOUS! He enjoys his friends and even dogs that are grumpy seem to be playing in Samson eyes!!! We want to make sure this amazing dog gets all the time he want to gain enough confidence through positive experience to trust more readily. He already has gained a lot!

This past week Samson took a field trip to our local park with his kennel buddy Ms. Moonie and he did very well! Samson was confidently curious the second he stepped foot in the parking lot. He was smelling all the smells and taking in all the scenery. This sweet boy would do well in a quiet home and would prefer a home without children.
