Sammy's Story

Meet Sammy Still Waiting for His Forever Home

For over a year, Sammy has waited patiently in foster care, watching other dogs leave for their forever homes while he stays behind wondering when it will finally be his turn.

At just 3 years old and 34 pounds, Sammy is the kind of dog who leaves an imprint on your heart the moment you meet him. He has the sweetest smile, a playful spirit, and so much love to give. Despite everything hes been through, Sammy still wakes up every day hopeful, happy, and ready to love the people around him.

Sammy came all the way from the island of Saint Lucia. While we may never know exactly what his early life looked like, one thing is clear no matter what hardships he faced, he never lost his joyful spirit or his trust in people.

Today, Sammy is thriving in foster care at Spirited Canine, where hes spent the last year learning, growing, and discovering how wonderful life can be when someone believes in you. He absolutely loves having a job to do and lights up with pride when learning new tricks or commands. Hes smart, eager, and so incredibly loyal to the people he loves.

Sammys Favorite Things:

Walks and outdoor adventures
Learning new tricks and games
Spending time with his people
Playing with other dogs
Being told hes a good boy

This handsome Cattle Dog / Chihuahua Terrier mix is playful, affectionate, and full of personality. He loves making canine friends and enjoys being active, but at the end of the day, what Sammy truly wants most is a family of his own.

Sammy is crate trained, housebroken, and walks beautifully on leash and harness. Hes ready truly ready to finally leave foster care behind and start the life hes waited so long for.

The Perfect Home for Sammy

Sammy would thrive with an active family who enjoys adventures, walks, and including their dog in everyday life. He would do best in a home with older children who can respect his space while enjoying his goofy, loving personality.

Most of all, Sammy just needs someone willing to choose him. Someone willing to look past the fact that hes been waiting so long and see the incredible dog standing right in front of them.

After more than a year in foster care, Sammy deserves more than temporary love. He deserves belonging. He deserves a couch to call his own, a family who wont leave, and someone who finally says:

Youre home.

Apply to adopt Sammy:
https://brunoprojectrescue.org/apply
