Sam's Story
Meet Sam! Sam is a sweet, 5 and a half year old, 17 lb Italian Greyhound / Chihuahua mix who is starting over after losing the only home he’s known for the past five years. Originally found as a stray puppy in Arkansas, Sam was adopted by a loving family 5 years ago. Sadly, when his owner had to move into assisted living, Sam had to say goodbye and begin a new chapter.

Despite everything he’s been through, Sam has proven himself to be a truly friendly and loving little guy. Sam is doing wonderfully in his foster home, and here is what his foster has to say:
* * * *
"Sam is SO good! What a sweetheart he is. He's quiet, potty trained, and a total cuddle bug.
He comes to work with me and is the best work buddy!!! He comes to the office and just sits on the cushion next to me while I work. Everyone at work loves him and he makes so many friends.
He does great with other dogs, and him and my cats (I have 2) are curious about each other, but figuring it out. He doesn't love them, but isn't trying to chase them. They are figuring it out! He loves other dogs, though."
* * * *

Sam's previous family in Arkansas shared that he cannot be left outside in the yard unattended, because he can and WILL find his way out.
We don't agree with leaving dogs outside unattended, anyway... and Sam clearly doesn't want to be left outside, either!
Because of this, Sam cannot go to a home that relies on a doggy door or one where he would be left alone in a yard. He would do great in an apartment, or with someone who can commit to not letting him out in their yard unattended.

Sam would do best in a home where he gets plenty of attention and companionship. Farfel's Rescue feels very strongly that every dog deserves the opportunity for formal, positive reinforcement / force-free training classes that are virtual or in-person. We therefore aren't willing to adopt Sam out to a home that doesn't choose to offer him this training opportunity. Farfel's is happy to provide a list of approved positive reinforcement / force-free virtual or in-person trainers in your area.

Sam has been fully vetted and vaccinated to adhere to Farfel's protocol of only adopting out healthy dogs. He has also been neutered to support Farfel's commitment to a future world where dogs are never euthanized for space.

Applications are currently being accepted for Sam and can be found at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/. If you're interested in this sweet, cuddly and fun-loving best friend, please fill out our application form completely and submit.

**PLEASE NOTE** If you're truly interested in adopting Sam, please be sure to fill out our Farfel's Rescue adoption application found at the link above or at farfels.com. Adoption site applications such as Petfinder and Adoptapet don't provide enough information and therefore aren't useful. Our Farfel's application is the only initial tool that we have to determine a great match for this very deserving dog. We're sorry, but in many cases, we're unable to get back to those that don't submit our Farfel's Rescue adoption application. Thanks very much for choosing rescue.
