FIRST STEPS: Please visit https://www.save-a-mutt.org/adoption-application/ to fill out an application - a Petfinder Inquiry is not the adoption process. We don't do meet and greets until applications have been approved. All our dogs are located IN Washington State. We are a local foster home based rescue. Saffron is a tender hearted gentleman who will melt your heart with just one look. He is a happy boy who thinks everyone is wonderful. Saffron knows how to relax and enjoy the moment and he will be very happy with someone who recognizes the beauty in the little things....just like him. He can be independent and takes naps while his people are away from the home but his dream is to belong to a family that will include him in their adventures. Saffron is respectful when meeting other dogs and would be fine with a canine companion that is calm and respectful. He doesn't seem to mind cats and would likely be ok sharing his space with one. Young children can be quick and unpredictable, therefore, we are asking for a home without children under 10 years of age. Saffron loves going for walks and is well behaved on a leash. He is housebroken. Saffron recently received a Senior Wellness Exam with bloodwork. While in our care he had surgery for cherry eye repair, a dental with extractions and neuter surgery. Saffron is neutered, microchipped and up to date on his vaccines. He is 10 years old and weighs 21 pounds. Please note, we have approximately a 200 mile adoption radius from Stanwood WA for our Senior Dogs. Save-A-Mutt may limit this distance based on the long term needs of this pet. We don’t adopt out of state except to the Vancouver BC area. We don’t ship dogs. Once approved you must pick them up in Snohomish County, WA. Save-A-Mutt's Adoption Policy

Save-A-Mutt is a Foster Based rescue. All our dogs are in foster homes, there is no facility to visit. All adopters are required to fill out an application. As we review the application, we may have questions - and prefer email to ask/answer them. So please check your email regularly. We may remove adoptable animals off of Petfinder while we work on applications - but will contact you to let you know. We like to have one good app per pet as not to disappoint people. It can take a couple days to finish an application, depending on your references, etc. Please let your references know that will be sending emails - they sometime go to junk mail. We enjoy open communication, but we are a volunteer organization, so please be patient. Once we receive all the information we need, we will schedule a phone interview, home check, etc. Thank you and we will be in touch! Our adoptions are typically done Monday - Saturday, we are closed on Sunday’s to give our volunteers at least one day off. You must be available to do meets and adoptions during that time frame. We can make acceptions only with the approval of the foster home.
