Sadler's Story

Sadler
Cane Corso
Male
100lbs
2 yo
dogs

He enters a room the way a good story begins—steady, magnetic, and already your favorite. At just two years old and a solid 100 pounds, this Cane Corso is pure charisma wrapped in a gorgeous, noble frame. His eyes do that quiet?comic thing where you’re not sure if he’s reading your mind or setting up the punchline, and then he leans in like, “You and me? Let’s go do life.”

Dogs are his social circle and he wears the mayor’s sash—easy greetings, good manners, the kind of play that keeps everyone smiling. He’s all heart and old?soul loyalty, the classic hero archetype in a modern Chicago body: Old Yeller, but the Mastiff version, equal parts guardian, goofball, and gentleman.

What he’s looking for is simple and specific: a MASTIFF?savvy family who understands big feelings in a big dog—clear structure, kind leadership, and a rhythm that lets him shine. Give him a job like “walk with me,” a plan like “this is how we greet,” and a place like “right here beside us,” and he’ll give you his whole steady heart. He’s built for adventures—the everyday kind and the memorable ones—long walks that end in porch naps, weekend exploring, and all the miles you want to put under a shared leash.

He is as photogenic as he is faithful, the kind of dog who makes strangers soften and neighbors say hello. Underneath that striking profile is a tenderness that’s always looking back to check that you’re okay. He’s ready to be someone’s legend, not in grand gestures, but in the way he shows up every single day: present, devoted, delighted to be yours.

If your home speaks fluent Mastiff—calm, confident, consistent—and your life has room for a charismatic co?pilot who’s great with other dogs, come meet the Windy City’s own gentle giant. The adventure starts at your door, and he’s already standing there, tail low and hopeful, ready to write the rest of the story with you.

Mission Compassion Paw Rescue's Adoption Policy
MCP is a Chicago foster based rescue. We focus on dogs who need extra advocacy, including: Pit bull-type dogs, senior animals, animals with medical or behavioral needs, and bonded pairs. We don’t view adoption as placing animals, we view it as welcoming new humans into our Pack. Because of this, our process is intentionally thoughtful and hands-on. Many approved applications ultimately result in us recommending a different dog with stronger match potential. This is part of our responsibility as advocates and something we are known and respected for. Our adoption process typically includes at least three meetings (often more) to ensure a strong, lasting match. These meetings allow time to build a relationship, communicate openly, and support a healthy transition. We are full disclosure, we know our animals well and are honest about their needs. We're hands-on from first meet-and-greet through decompression and beyond, and we are comfortable saying no at any point if the fit isn’t right. We look for organic connections and humans who understand that successful Forever relationships take time, patience, and commitment. Going slow matters to us, for our animals and for our humans. Important Adoption Expectations: All potential adopters are expected to meet their match at least three times with all household members participating in the process. Out-of-state adoptions may be considered for exceptional matches only. Multiple visits to the Chicagoland area are required. We do not ship animals. We do not allow: Gifting animals, surprise adoptions, or any adoptions without full household involvement. Adoption Fees: Dogs: $600 | Bonded pairs: $900 | Cats: $250, $325 for a pair We hold our animals and our humans close. Quality over quantity. Always.
