Sadie Lou's Story
SOME PEOPLE HAVE A ZEST FOR LIFE. SADIE HAS THE WHOLE DAMN FRUIT.

Sadie Lou was found outside a bar as a tiny puppy, which, looking back, feels pretty on-brand. Not because she drinks. Because this girl has never once wanted to miss where the fun is happening.

Now 7 months old, we finally have her DNA results, and she’s part Vizsla, Australian Shepherd, Australian Cattle Dog, and a few other ingredients that apparently combine to make one of the happiest little creatures walking the earth.

This girl is pure joy.

Sadie wakes up ready to have herself a day. She loves people. She LOVES other dogs. And she loves her toys with the kind of commitment some people should probably bring to their marriages. Give her a pile of toys and she can entertain herself for hours. Throw one? Incredible. Squeak one? Huge development. Leave her alone with six of them? She has plans.

We could sit and watch this girl all day. She’ll be happily entertaining herself, carrying toys around, finding something new to investigate, and somehow ten minutes later you realize you’re just sitting there smiling at her the whole time.

That’s Sadie Lou. She makes people happy.

She is confident, social, curious, affectionate, and always interested in whatever is going on. Her general approach to life is basically, “Oh, are we doing something? I’m in.” A walk, a car ride, another dog, a new person, a toy she forgot existed for eleven minutes—it really does not take much to make Sadie’s day.

She absolutely adores other dogs. Wrestling, chasing, playing, general dog foolishness—Sadie is available. She’s social and easygoing with her canine friends, and we think she would have an absolute blast growing up with a dog buddy.

She also does well with the cat in her foster home. She’s curious, because Sadie has never encountered anything she didn’t feel deserved a brief investigation, but she isn’t aggressive and we haven’t seen any prey drive from her.

And then there’s that brain. Sadie is SMART. She picks things up quickly, wants to engage, and is going to be so much fun for someone to train. She’s already mostly potty trained, settles well in her crate, walks nicely on leash, and responds beautifully to gentle guidance. Give this girl something to learn and that busy little brain goes right to work.

But as much as we can tell you about how friendly she is, how smart she is, how much she loves other dogs, or how hilariously serious she is about her toy collection, none of that quite explains why we love Sadie Lou so much.

It’s her joy. She has so much of it.

There is something about being around Sadie that makes an ordinary day feel a little better. She is happy to see you. Happy to play. Happy to learn. Happy to find a toy. Happy another dog showed up. Honestly, Sadie is just pretty damn pleased to have been included in life.

And it’s impossible not to love that about her.

We love watching her. We love being around her. We love this girl to pieces. She is funny without trying to be funny, affectionate without demanding it, and full of the kind of personality that turns a dog from the dog you adopted into a full-fledged member of the family before you even realize it happened.

Someday, somebody is going to wake up with this goofy girl beside them. They’re going to watch her parade through the house carrying whatever toy has been selected for that morning’s festivities. They’re going to teach her things, take her places, laugh at her, grow with her, and get to watch all that puppy personality turn into one incredible dog.

And somewhere along the way, the little puppy who just wanted to be part of their day, will become the dog who has been beside them through everything- the one they can't imagine a day without.

Sadie Lou has a whole lifetime of love, laughter, foolishness, adventures, and joy to give somebody. She already loves life this much. Imagine how much she’s going to love having a family of her very own.

+++++++

ADOPTION APPLICATION:
https://form.jotform.com/260401018308040

+++++++

Sadie Lou is currently being fostered in Texas and will be transported to the perfect forever home by our rescue! We have transports departing each week!

+++++++

The Truth About Rescue:

Every rescue pup is a work in progress and thats the beauty of it. None of them come wrapped in a bow, ready-made or mistake-free. They come with stories, quirks, and hearts that have seen a lot but still choose to trust again.

Adoption isnt about perfection; its about presence. Showing up for them, every day, until they know theyre finally home. Thats when youll see them bloom soft and steady into the very best version of themselves. And somewhere along the way, youll realize they were never the only one being rescued.

+++++++

Once we have received your application, we will review and reach out to set-up an interview with one of our volunteers! If you have additional questions, please email us at SaintMuttsInquiries@gmail.com.

Note: As with all of our rescues, we recommend homes with children 10 years and over to ensure the best fit for both the pets and families involved.

Check out all of our adoptable pups and learn more about our rescue on our website: www.stmuttsrescue.com
