Sadie's Story

Hi, I’m Sadie! ?

I’m an 8-year-old, 56-pound mixed-breed girl with a big heart and a love for toys. My life took a turn recently when my person became very sick and couldn’t take care of me anymore. It was a hard goodbye, but now I’m ready to find a new family who will love me just as much as I’ll love them.

I might seem a little shy when we first meet, but don’t be fooled...Once I spot a toy, it’s game on! Fetch? Yes, please. Tug? Even better. I play nicely with stuffies, too. After some fun, I know how to settle down and enjoy a good nap by your side.

I’m completely potty trained, know how to sit, and I walk like a pro on leash. Car rides are fun once I’m in, but sometimes I need a little boost to get up into the seat.

I’ve got a good amount of energy for my age, but I also love slowing down and just hanging out with my person. I did live with cats before (and I liked them!), but I can be a bit bossy with other dogs. Because of that, I’d do best as your one-and-only pup, or with an experienced dog parent who can help me mind my manners.

The best news? My adoption fee is waived because of my age, but don’t think of me as “old.” I’ve still got plenty of spunk, lots of love to give, and I’m so ready for my next adventure. If I sound like the girl for you, put in an application today!

I am up-to-date on vaccines, spayed, dewormed, microchipped, and heartworm negative.

The cost to adopt is FREE, and the adoption process begins with an Adoption Application that can be located at: www.faithfulfriendsnc.org/adopt
Once your completed application has been reviewed, the humans will contact you with questions and/or set an appointment for you to meet me. Thank you! Please read all guidelines before sending in an application. Do not reach out to the sanctuary about the status of your application; we will contact you if we are interested in setting up an appointment.

Please read before applying. We place our animals—many from neglectful or abusive backgrounds—only in safe, responsible homes. Basic requirements include up-to-date vet care for current/past pets (Rabies, Distemper, annual exams, heartworm prevention for dogs), safe housing, and a vet reference check from all clinics used in the last 10 years. Renters must provide landlord approval. First-time adopters ages 21–25 may need additional info. You must apply for a specific animal and complete the application fully. Approved applicants will be contacted to schedule a meet & greet; we cannot provide status updates due to high volume.
