Sadie's Story

www.huskyrescueteam.org

If you have additional questions please email info@huskyrescueteam.org

Meet Sadie — Our Big, Beautiful, Derpy Sweetheart

Sadie was surrendered to animal control for being destructive when left uncrated and unattended, and for chasing the resident cat. We had our eye on her from the beginning—even offering a free breed‑specific training session to anyone who adopted her directly from the shelter. But no one stepped forward. When the rescue plea came in, we knew we couldn’t let this girl slip through the cracks. So we rescued her.

Sadie is just a year old and already nearly 70 lbs. We believe she’s a Shepherd/Husky mix, but what we

know

for sure is that she’s incredibly intelligent, full of personality, and wonderfully unique. One of her most distinctive features is her nose—she’s missing a small piece from the center tip. At first we thought it was just pigmentation, but it’s truly gone. Structurally she’s fine, and whether it’s a birth defect or something from her past, it only adds to her charm.

We’ve gotten to know Sadie deeply. Despite her size, she is a giant sweetheart who has absolutely no idea how big she is. She’s affectionate, loyal, and gives the best full‑body hugs. She

lives

for belly rubs. She’s curious and nosy about everything, but she’s learned appropriate manners and makes incredible eye contact that feels like she’s looking right into your soul.

Sadie thrives with other young, playful dogs and

must

go to a home with canine friends who enjoy wrestling and can handle a 70‑lb goofball. The best word to describe her is simply:

nice

. She’s a genuinely nice, derpy, joyful girl.

She’s had a few sessions with our trainer and knows some basic obedience. She’s very smart, very food‑motivated, and enjoys benebones and elk antlers during downtime. She is crate trained (and will need an XL crate when left alone), and she’s housebroken, though she may have an occasional accident if you miss her cue.

Sadie is being fostered in Maryland, and adopters should plan to come to our rescue center to meet her. She’s high‑energy but walks well on a harness, and she’s also great in the car.

If you’re looking for a big, loving, playful companion who will make you laugh daily and adore you endlessly, Sadie might just be your girl. ❤ï ̧

more content at
https://huskyrescueteam.org/sadie

~~Husky Education And Rescue Team is a foster based rescue. Our dogs are in our foster homes all up and down the east coast. We do not have a facility in which you can visit. We find this a huge benefit because we learn our dogs and are able to educate our adopters on what it’s like to have them live in your home. Part of our process, once pre-approved, is to speak with the foster for the dog you’re interested in. If you’re still interested in adopting from our rescue the first step is to complete our adoption application online at www.huskyrescueteam.org/apply

If you have additional questions please email info@huskyrescueteam.org
