Sadie's Story
Meet Sadie

Sadie is a young Great Dane/Lab mix with a huge personality, a goofy streak, and an even bigger love for the people she calls her own. At nearly 100 pounds, she is a true Velcro dog who loves playing fetch, following her people around the yard, curling up beside them, and supervising whatever happens to be going on.

Sadie is house-trained and crate-trained, rides well in the car, and settles nicely at home. Once in she bonds with you, she is incredibly affectionate, loyal, playful, and devoted.

But Sadie isnt the right dog for every home, and finding the right home for her is very important to us.

Sadie needs to be the only dog in her home. She has a history of serious conflict with another dog in her current household, and we are not looking to place her in a home with other dogs. She has successfully lived with cats.

Sadie also needs an adult or teenage household with no young children. She can be uncomfortable with unfamiliar people approaching her too quickly and prefers introductions on her own terms. The best way to meet Sadie is actually to pretend she isnt there! Give her some space, let her observe you, and allow her to decide when shes ready to say hello.

Her ideal adopter will be confident and experienced with large dogs, understand canine body language and boundaries, and be willing to continue working with Sadie on obedience, socialization, and appropriate introductions. She doesnt need someone to change who she is—she needs someone willing to give her structure, guidance, consistency, and the opportunity to become the best version of herself.

Sadies Home Requirements

Only dog in the home
Teenagers or adults only — no young children
Cats are okay
Large-dog experience strongly preferred
Commitment to continued training and socialization
Adopter must live within approximately two hours of Gadsden, Alabama

Sadies family loves her tremendously and wants to personally participate in introducing her to her potential new family. For that reason, we are keeping her adoption local to Northeast Alabama and the surrounding area.

Sadie isnt looking for just any home. Shes looking for her person—someone who understands that earning the trust of a dog like Sadie makes the bond that follows incredibly special. If youre looking for a loyal, goofy, active sidekick and Sadies needs sound like a home you can genuinely provide, wed love to hear from you.
