Sadie's Story

LOCATION: San Antonio, TX
DOB: 02/11/2025 (Approximately 1 year old)

Meet Sadie, a sweet and energetic young girl with a heart as big as her smile. This precious mama was found wandering the streets, doing her best to survive on her own. Despite whatever she has endured, she remains incredibly loving, affectionate, and eager to belong to someone.

Sadie is the perfect blend of playful and cuddly. She has moderate energy — she loves to run, play, and be silly with her people, but she also knows how to settle appropriately and relax. She enjoys stretching out in the backyard to soak up the sunshine, then happily comes inside to be wherever her people are. Personal space is not really her style — if you are moving, she wants to help; if you are sitting, she wants to be loved.

She is fully potty trained and kennel trained, making her an easy addition to a home. She rides well in the car and walks nicely on leash most of the time, though she can occasionally be inconsistent. She is a smart girl who continues learning and gaining confidence every day.

Sadie does well with large dogs and appears comfortable around them. She ignores cats in her foster home but has not been formally tested long term, so slow, proper introductions are recommended. She is unsure about small dogs and would need careful introductions if placed with one.

She does well with older children and has done great with a 12-year-old in her foster home. However, she is fearful of younger children. Sudden movements and loud noises can make her uncomfortable, so a home with children 12 and older would be best.

Around adults and strangers, Sadie may initially be shy or nervous, but she warms up quickly once she realizes she is safe. She simply needs patience and reassurance to feel secure.

Sadie would thrive in a loving, moderately active home that will continue building her confidence while giving her the affection she craves. She has clearly endured hardship, yet she remains trusting, gentle, and grateful for every kind touch. With stability and love, she will make an incredibly loyal and devoted companion.
Sadie is available for adoption and is currently located in San Antonio, TX. Local or nearby adopters are preferred.

All donation options, adoption applications, and important links can be found here:
https://linktr.ee/Srgdrr

If donating, please note who or what your donation is for.

Team Rocky Enterprises, Inc.'s Adoption Policy
How Our Adoption Process Works Team Rocky Enterprises DBA Save Rocky the Great Dane Rescue and Rehab (SRGDRR) follows a thoughtful adoption process designed to ensure the best possible match for both our dogs and their future families. Our available dogs are posted on our website, Facebook page, and multiple adoption platforms, including Petfinder. Once you find a dog you’re interested in, the process includes: 1. Adoption Application – This helps us learn about you, your household, and what you’re looking for in a dog so we can make the best match. 2. Veterinary Reference Check – We verify that current or past pets have received appropriate veterinary care. First-time pet owners are welcome and encouraged to apply. 3. Phone Interview – This is a chance for us to talk with you about the dog you’re interested in, including personality, needs, medical history, and any quirks. It’s also your opportunity to ask questions about the dog and our rescue. 4. Home Check – We confirm that your home environment is safe and appropriate for the dog, whether that includes a fenced yard or a leash-walking setup. This is not a housekeeping inspection—just a safety check. Once all steps are completed and approved, you’ll sign an adoption contract and submit an adoption donation. From there, your new forever friend will be ready to head home! Why This Process Matters Our goal is to match each dog with a home that best meets their needs. Some dogs thrive with experienced owners, while others do best with someone who is home most of the day or understands specific behavioral or medical needs. Taking the time to get this right helps ensure lifelong, successful adoptions. Our Lifetime Commitment If at any point you are unable to keep your adopted dog, you must contact us. We will always take our dogs back. We never want them to end up in unsafe situations or shelters again. Our responsibility to each dog lasts for their lifetime. Thank you for choosing rescue and for considering adoption with SRGDRR.
