Sadie's Story

Sadie is a 5-year-old, 15-pound West Highland Terrier/Affenpinscher mix. Truth were told, she doesn’t look much like an Affenpinscher, but there’s no mistaking that characteristic monkey mouth!

Sadie lived in a home where she was loved, cared for, and fed way too much human food! She came to us because her owner died. You couldn’t ask for a more perfect dog. Her manners are impeccable. She is housetrained. You can trust her alone in the house—she will never destroy anything. She rarely barks. Foster Dogmom works from home. Sadie sits in a big comfy chair behind her quietly all day, just waiting for the evening couch time! She sleeps in the bed with foster Dogmom at night—she chooses a spot, settles in, and doesn’t move all night.

She lives in a foster home with 5 other dogs and she gets along with everyone. Since she’s used to being an only dog, she doesn’t interact much with the other dogs. But occasionally the puppy in the house can get her into the classic play crouch.

Sadie’s very favorite thing to do is to sit in your lap or by your side when you’re on the couch. She’ll whine at you just a little if she thinks you need more couch time! She likes to be scritched on the head and loves to have her tummy rubbed. She will stare up adoringly at you as long as you stare back, and if you are very, very good, she will give you little kisses with her tiny pink tongue.

We have had her groomed since these pix were taken, but she doesn’t look a lot different—it’s Sadie’s nature to be scruffy! But you can see her eyes now!

Sadie would do equally well in an apartment or house. She would prefer to be an only dog but will get along with another dog, so long as she gets her fair share of lap space! Teenage children are fine, but younger ones would stress her. Sadie is a high-love-giving, low-maintenance dog who deserves her own people to love.

Sadie’s adoption fee is $250 and includes spay, all shots & microchip. She is heartworm-negative and is on heartworm prevention.

Note:
We always respond first to inquiries that tell us something about your living situation (house, apartment, single, family, etc.) and why you want this dog. Be sure to include your phone number in your inquiry. We call inquiries that seem to be a good fit for the dog.
