Ruthie politely lets the crowd know it's safe to follow her.<br/><br/>Born on March 31, Ruthie is a beautiful Lab- Golden Retriever mix puppy with the confidence of a dog three times her size and the sweetest heart you could ever hope to meet. Her foster laughs because whenever something catches the puppies' attention—a funny noise, the neighbor's dogs, or something happening at the fence—Ruthie is always the first one to investigate. Bob and Dolly usually hang back for a moment, almost like they're waiting for her official report. Once <br/><br/>Ruthie decides everything is under control, they casually wander over. It's become their routine, and honestly, it's hilarious. Ruthie isn't bossy or pushy—she just naturally assumes someone should make sure everything is okay... and apparently that someone is her.<br/><br/>For all of her confidence, Ruthie is one of the gentlest puppies you'll ever meet. She's wonderful with people of all ages, adores other dogs, and is absolutely thriving on love and attention. If you happen to sit down on the couch, Ruthie will happily assume you've done so because you were hoping for puppy snuggles. And honestly... she'd be right.<br/><br/>She's incredibly smart, too. In a very short time with her foster family, Ruthie has already learned basic commands and is making wonderful progress with potty training. She loves learning, catches onto routines quickly, and genuinely seems to enjoy figuring things out. She's the kind of puppy who watches you closely, tilts her little head, and somehow makes you feel like she's already one step ahead.<br/><br/>Like any good puppy, Ruthie loves to play. Tennis balls, Frisbees, games of hide-and-seek around the trees, wrestling with her siblings—she's all in. When everyone else is exhausted from the day's adventures, the three of them curl up together for a nap, usually piled into one adorable puppy heap. Ruthie enjoys splashing through the pool right alongside Bob and Dolly, but she's happy leaving the underwater treasure hunting to them. Someone has to supervise.<br/><br/>Because Ruthie has grown up surrounded by other dogs, we would love to see her join a home with another friendly canine companion. She absolutely blossoms with a dog buddy by her side—whether they're chasing each other through the backyard, curling up together for an afternoon nap, or standing shoulder to shoulder while Ruthie bravely investigates the latest backyard mystery. Having another playful pup to learn from, cuddle with, and share life's adventures would make Ruthie incredibly happy.<br/><br/>One of our favorite things about Ruthie is that she's brave without being reckless. Curious without being wild. Independent without ever making you feel like she doesn't need you. She has this wonderful balance of confidence and affection that's hard to describe until you meet her. She wants to be involved in whatever you're doing, whether that's watering flowers, folding laundry, or simply walking out to check the mail. In Ruthie's mind, everything is more fun if you're doing it together.<br/><br/>The truth is, Ruthie has all the qualities that make a truly exceptional family dog. <br/><br/>She's kind, intelligent, playful, affectionate, respectful with other dogs, and eager to please. She isn't trying to be the center of attention—she just naturally becomes someone you can't imagine your home without.<br/><br/>One day you'll laugh because your tiny puppy insisted on inspecting the backyard before anyone else was allowed outside. Years later, you'll realize she's still doing it. Still checking on her family. Still making sure everyone is together.
