Rusty's Story

Rusty is a sweet boy with a sensitive side and lots of love to give. He can be shy and uncertain with new people, but gentle handling, patience, and plenty of affection are the way to his heart. Once he trusts you, Rusty loves curling up in your lap and snuggling on the couch.

Having experienced several homes, Rusty needs someone willing to give him time to feel safe and build trust at his own pace. He can be sensitive to sudden movements and loud noises. He can also be very vocal when he sees other dogs on walks, so he’ll benefit from an understanding adopter who can continue working with him.

Rusty is crate trained and is very smart and playful. He is eager to be close to the people he loves. With a patient person who respects his boundaries and gives him the stability he deserves, his silly, affectionate personality really begins to shine.
