If you love a dog who has something to say, Russell may be your guy! He absolutely loves people and has never met a lap he didn’t want to climb into. He enjoys being carried and is happiest when he’s close to his humans. He’s also good with other dogs, making him a fun potential playmate for a canine sibling.<br/><br/>Like any young puppy, Russell is still learning the basics. He is not yet housebroken and loves to jump up to greet people. His new family should be prepared for lots of patience, consistency, positive training, and supervision as he learns his manners and grows into a well-behaved adult dog.<br/><br/>Russell has lots of energy and will need plenty of playtime, exercise, enrichment, and training. And because he is a Pomsky—a Husky mix—his adopters should be prepared for some classic northern-breed traits. Huskies and Husky mixes are well known for being clever, energetic, adventurous, and talented escape artists. They can be surprisingly determined when they want to explore, so Russell will need a secure home and a family committed to keeping him safely contained. <br/><br/>But after all that puppy energy, don’t be surprised if Russell wants to curl up right in your lap for some cuddles! <br/><br/>At the Humane Society of Midland County, all animals adopted will be spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations prior to an adoption. Dogs over 6 months of age will be heartworm tested, and any dog with a positive test will receive treatment at No Appointment Needed to Meet Adoptable Animals! <br/>We have open adoption hours, and walk-ins are always welcome! While filling out an application lets us know you're interested in adopting, it does not hold an animal, and applications are not required to meet the available animals.
