Before OBFR: Surrendered to NYACC because he was supposedly biting and a resource guarder.
Neither of these behaviors has been seen. His foster mom has put her hands in his mouth, in his food bowl and taken away things and he has not reacted once!
Energy Level: He’s a puppy! He’s pretty active.
Affection Level: Super loving and wants to be the apple of your eye.
Vocal Level: Not a big barker but will whine when he has to go in his crate initially. He quiets down quickly now and isn’t such a sissy about it anymore.
Stranger Danger: None. He’s appropriately happy to meet anyone and everyone.
Descriptors: Sweet, dopey, funny, smart, silly, has a bit of a wild side.
What we love most: How he is discovering new things! He’s learned what a toy is, how to play with other dogs, going in and out of the doggy door in his foster home. He’s just learning how to be a dog!
What makes us giggle: When he smiles and just wants love.
What he loves most: All the toys and treats.
What he knows: Hey, let’s not get pushy.
Food Motivated: Absolutely. Knows the word treats and is willing to work for them.
Leash Skills: Getting it.
Warning: He can be a wanker with smaller dogs.
Working on: Not jumping on people every 2 seconds for attention.

Kids: No kids under 13. NO kids that aren’t respectful and kind!
Dogs: Russell can be a rough player and doesn’t like in his face dogs. He does like to play a lot so a meet and greet would be necessary with another pup in the house.
Cats: Probably too much for a cat, so nope.
Housebroken: Uses the doggy door but still has occasional accidents inside. He will need to learn the new routine in his new home to be 100%
Crate trained: Yep! Goes in on his own and is really good. He gets a bone and some toys in there too.
What you should know: Apartments could work for him but at least 4 long walks a day will be a must. He would love a house with a fenced in yard too. Dogs not allowed on the furniture? This isn’t the guy for you. We are only looking for people who will welcome him on the furniture for snuggles! He’s sweet and gentle by nature. He needs a family who will work with a puppy, teach him what they expect from him, committed to taking the time to bond with him and who appreciate his sensitive soul.
