Russell's Story

Russell is primed and ready for his forever home to come along and snatch him up! He is just a youngster at about 7-months old, so needs someone who enjoys shaping a puppy into a well-mannered dog. He LOVES to learn and is very focused on his person, treats, and/or ball.

Russell, who weighs about 50-pounds, is just a big, derpy goofball of a puppy. He was just neutered, is fully vaccinated, and microchipped. He has lived with cats and other dogs. He would love to have a playful dog sibling or regular play dates with some doggy friends. He might not be a good fit for an older dog sibling because he's a baby Aussie boy who only wants to play, play, play.

Russell is a typical Velcro Aussie, very human-engaged, always wanting to know what you're doing and where you're going and what you can do for him while you're doing that. Yes, expect a bathroom escort at all times when you adopt Russell. You'll never be lonely in there again. Hes pretty confident and friendly and loves adventures. If you're looking for a great sport dog prospect, a walking/hiking buddy, and an Aussie dog ambassador to accompany you on dog-friendly outings, Russell is the dog for you.

Russell is doing great with his leash training. He is well potty trained and is crate trained (although he doesnt love being crated!). He is going through puppy chew stage, so anything not nailed down needs to be properly stashed away, but with supervision and alternative appropriate chew items, he is doing better. Hes a busy guy so you need to be prepared for the constant activity and exploration that a young Aussie puppy brings to a home. He has lived with kids, but he is an Aussie, so probably best he not have littles he can accidentally knock over.

With his exceptional temperament and eagerness to learn and be a part of a family, Russell will be a wonderful dog for an active, experienced Aussie lover! Also, be prepared for his sleeping habits - either "little spoon style" or top of his person. So many, funny little things you're going to learn about Russell after you adopt him!

If you are interested in adopting Russell, please fill out the application on our website at: https://www.westernaustralianshepherdrescue.com/adoption-application.html.

We schedule meet n greets after a completed application which includes a home visit and reference checks.

Russell is located in DuPont, WA.
