Rush's Story

Rush is a guy who knows what he wants. He likes to select his toys, usually chew toys and sleep anywhere it is cool. For dinner, dog chow is fine but toppers should be included for flavor. Rush was born with a hip deformity but it doesn't affect his happy healthy life. This guy is a good leash walker who is crate and play pen trained and has great house manners.

Rush has a habit of talking back if he it told to do something he doesn't want to do...just like any teenager. He has lived with cats but is not a fan of sharing his food and toys with other dogs.

He's a goofy boy, very expressive. His nickname is monkey because he sounds like one. He likes a lot of attention. He also likes laying out in the sun. Come meet this goof and who knows, maybe it will be love at first sight.

Nevada Humane Society's Adoption Policy
So, you’re ready to adopt – wonderful! We are so glad you have decided to become a pet parent. You probably have some questions, naturally. Here are a few things to keep in mind to help you prepare for the big day. Helpful Things to Know Age Requirement: Adopters must be at least 18 years old, and have a current photo ID. Adoption Fees: Adoption prices vary depending on several factors. Pets age 8+ are always fee-waived. Pets come vaccinated, microchipped, and spayed/neutered! Dogs in the Home: If there are other dogs in your home, we do not necessarily require the resident dog to meet the adopted dog. However, in some cases, there are dogs available for adoption who must meet resident dogs in the home. If you’d like your dog to meet its possible new sibling, they may do so once the adopter meet-and-greet is completed. Small Animals in the Home: Other small pets in your home (cats, rabbits, etc.) are not permitted to meet prior to adoption. Placing A Pet on Hold: If you meet a pet and it’s love at first lick, but you are unable to adopt them immediately, we allow a 24-hour hold. The cost is $25 and you must first meet the pet, and ensure it is a good fit! Discounts: We offer a military discount for active duty and veterans who've served. Please ask your adoption counselor for more details!
