Rupert's Story

Rupert is an especially handsome 7-year-old Husky weighing 77 pounds. He has been at our shelter for over a year waiting to find a home where he can thrive. What prospective adopters should know about Rupert:
- He’s an active playful Husky who walks well on leash.
- He can be judgey. You may think he’s sitting calmly in the corner of your office, but his eyes say he’s judging the way you did your hair today.
- He was not born to be a sled dog or leader of the pack. In fact, he really doesn’t like to be around other dogs and wants to be your one-and-only.
- Despite his good looks, he would rather not be pet, cuddled, or fussed over. We’re recommending him to an adult-only home with people who can respect his "can’t touch this" attitude.
- He’s smart and loves training time. It’s his favorite way to bond with people.
- We’ve already contacted more than a dozen Husky and non-Husky rescue groups. They all declined, were full, or did not respond.
- We’re committed to finding Rupert a good home! He is in no danger and can stay at our shelter as long as it takes to find a good fit.

Could Rupert be your new best friend? Visit our Lahaska shelter to meet him in person. He is neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccines, negative for heartworm, and started on preventative treatment. PA Kennel License: Lahaska #1401, Quakertown #7508
