Rufio

Rufio may have missed out on a lot in his early years but one thing he hasn't missed out on is his zest for life! Estimated to be about 3 years old and weighing 23 pounds, this big boy came to us after living in heartbreaking conditions. His previous owner was elderly, disabled and unable to care for him, so Rufio spent much of his life confined to a crate with very little opportunity to exercise, socialize, or simply be a dog. He wasn't given the chance to learn much about the world but thankfully now he finally has that chance and he is making the most of it!<br/><br/>Rufio is bursting with energy and curiosity. He's playful, goofy, and always ready to see what's happening next. He absolutely loves people, is incredibly food motivated, and is eager to learn. The foundation may not have been laid for him as a puppy, but he's still young, smart, and has so much potential with someone willing to invest a little time in him.<br/><br/>Because he wasn't properly socialized, Rufio is still learning doggy manners. He generally does well with other dogs but can be a bit of a bull in a china shop and sometimes misses the social cues that other dogs are giving him. Slow introductions and continued training will set him up for success, and we think he'll continue to make great progress.<br/><br/>Rufio is looking for a fresh start. He's looking for someone who sees past where he came from and gets excited about where he's going. Someone who will celebrate the little victories, laugh at his goofy moments, and show him everything he should have experienced from the very beginning.
