Rue Catahoula Leopard Dog Oklahoma City, OK

Meet Rue, a 25lb, female, Catahoula mix who was born around February 2022. She came to Mutt Misfits with some leg injuries but they were already healed and she doesn’t require any additional care or medication at this time.


Rue is mostly potty trained but will need some patience as she settles into a new routine. She is kennel trained but will bark if she can see you. She is learning some commands but only knows “sit” right now. She is very food motivated and will be a quick learner!


Rue is a medium-high energy dog. She does great with dogs and cats of all sizes and ages. She can be very bouncy and get very excited so caution should be used with very small or senior pets. She does take correction very well though. Rue does not currently live with any children but she is young and very sweet so we think she would do fine with proper introductions.

Rue is a Catahoula mix which is usually a higher energy breed. She will need lots of mental stimulation on top of physical to keep her happy. 10-15 minutes of mental stimulation is as tiring as a 1 mile walk. Rue eats meals out of slow feeders and has a snack in a snuffle mat or licky mat. She is figuring out how to complete doggy puzzles as well to keep her energy drained. Her foster would recommend long lasting toys and chews or a flirt pole as well to mix things up. She currently loves plush type toys but also likes Benebones. When she’s all tired out she does enjoy some snuggles with her foster. She really loves snuggling with some of her foster siblings too.
