Since coming into our care, Rue has truly blossomed. She is now a healthy, confident, playful young dog with so much love to give.<br/><br/>Rue is the kind of dog who makes life more fun. She loves walks, adventures, car rides, playing with other dogs, and discovering new things alongside her people. She is intelligent and eager to learn, making training and enrichment activities especially rewarding for her. Interactive toys, balls, tug games, and anything that gets her moving are sure to bring out her happy, playful side.<br/><br/>But theres another side to Rue that makes her such a wonderful companion. After a day of exercise and adventure, she knows how to settle down and enjoy the quieter moments. She loves being close to her family and fits nicely into household routines. She is playful without being overwhelming, affectionate without demanding constant attention, and curious about the world around her.<br/><br/>Rue would thrive with an active family who wants more than just a pet — she wants to be part of the adventure. Whether its exploring a new trail, going for a long walk, learning a new trick, playing with a canine friend, or simply relaxing together at home, Rue is happiest when she gets to experience life with her people.<br/><br/>She could happily share her home with another friendly dog, or she would be perfectly content being the star of the show in an active household.<br/><br/>Rue has already come so far. Now, shes ready for the part of her story she has been waiting for: a family to call her own. If youre looking for a loyal, affectionate, intelligent companion who will keep you smiling, keep you moving, and remind you to enjoy every adventure along the way, Rue may be your girl.<br/><br/>Good with men: yes<br/><br/>Good with women: yes<br/><br/>Good with children: yes, as with any newly adopted dog, respectful interactions and adult supervision are always recommended while everyone gets to know each other<br/><br/>Good with other dogs: yes, excellent; Rue gets along very well with other dogs and enjoys canine companionship<br/><br/>Good with cats: yes<br/><br/>House trained: working on it and continuing to reinforce good household habits<br/><br/>Crate trained: in progress.<br/><br/>Can be handled/touched: yes<br/><br/>Energy level: medium to high - Rue enjoys daily walks, playtime, and activities that allow her to use both her body and her mind. She would thrive with a family that enjoys spending time outdoors and including her in their adventures.<br/><br/>Flight risk: no, but extra caution should always be given in the beginning<br/><br/>Food aggressive: none observed; however, as with any newly adopted dog, we recommend feeding meals separately and supervising high-value treats, chews, and favorite toys around other dogs during the initial decompression period. Giving dogs time to settle into their new home helps create positive relationships and prevents unnecessary conflicts.<br/><br/>Barker: no, Rue is generally quiet and is not known to bark excessively<br/><br/>Walks on leash: yes, excellent, Rue is a wonderful walking companion and enjoys exploring the world on leash.
