Ruby's Story
**WE ARE ALWAYS IN NEED OF FOSTER HOMES** Homeward Bound Dog Rescue is an all volunteer rescue organization and all our dogs and puppies are in foster homes - we are not a shelter and do NOT have a facility where we house our dogs. For adoption information go to: www.homewardbounddogrescue.com. You must fill out an application online as we do NOT accept applications at our clinics.

My name is Ruby. I am a sweet loving dog. I am believed to be a Jack Russell Terrier and Spaniel mix. My sister, Birdee was recently adopted and went to her forever family. I have been a little sad. But I am building a new bond with the family dog Ginger. Its not a bad thing. My foster family has been preparing us to be separated.

I like to play but not too rough. My foster family consists of mom and dad and their two grandchildren, 17-year-old Mike, 19-year-old Alyssa, and 6-year-old Boxer/Pyrenees Ginger, who corrects us so we've learned not to antagonize her. We aren't pushing it. There are also two cats. We just wanna play. The black cat Jonah stays away from us. The other cat is a 9-month-old kitten that likes to encourage play and he's wild and crazy. I have no interest in hurting either of them. I have met two little girls, 7 and 11 years old girls.

We are working on crate training and house training. I am learning basic commands and expect treats in return. I jump on people because I want to be petted and hugged. I hope to have a forever family soon. I can be loud in my crate when I want out.

Our adoption clinics are held one Saturday a month at our facility in Schenectady on John Street, located directly behind Boulevard Bowl (Erie Boulevard) from 10 am to 12 pm (directions are on our website). We require an approved application before we consider anyone for an adoption - so filling out the application is your first step. Once your application has been reviewed, you will receive an email invitation to attend an adoption event. Different dogs and puppies go up for adoption EVERY WEEK so please feel free to visit the site and click on the Petfinder link for updates as we are adopting dogs out in between adoption events. Puppies and dogs up to 2 years old are $395. Dogs over 2 years old are $295. 100% of the adoption fees go to help us save more dogs.
