Rubicon's Story
11-year-old Rubicon came to us from the San Diego Humane Society in April 2025, and within days of his arrival he was chosen to live in a Foster home.

Rubicon (affectionately known as "Roger" by his foster mom) is a 17.5-pound bundle of sweetness. This mellow, gentle boy loves nothing more than soft pets, cozy cuddles, and curling up in his person's lap. He enjoys short walks with his foster mom around the neighborhood. He has limited vision and sticks close to follow her lead. Roger also enjoys car rides and tagging along when his foster mom runs errands or visits friends and family.

Roger is a smart little guy who knows the commands Sit, Stay, Lay Down, and Hush/Quiet. He responds well to his nickname "Roger," as well as gentle leg taps and clicking sounds from his foster mom. He is laid back around other dogs, usually sniffing a quick sniff, then heading off to find a comfy spot to relax.

Roger had a dental in 2025, and he currently eats wet food, dry food, or a combination - he's not picky at all! He sleeps through the night without issues and does well with potty breaks every 3-4 hours during the day.

Roger truly loves being with his person and has blossomed in a home where his foster mom is retired. For his forever home, he would thrive with someone who is home most of the time or has the flexibility to bring him along on daily outings. A calm home, consistent routine, and gentle handling have helped Roger blossom and feel secure. In return, he gives loving and devoted companionship.

If you're looking for a sweet, mellow dog who simply wants comfort, patience, and love, Roger may be the perfect match for you.

To meet Rubicon/Roger, please email placement@frostedfacesfoundation.org
