Rubicon's Story

Rubicon came to us from the San Diego Humane Society on April 5th, and only two days later, he was chosen to live in a Foster home.

Rubicon is a 10-year-old, 17.5-pound bundle of sweetness. He's friendly, gentle, and a huge fan of pets, cuddles, and curling up in your lap. Basically, he's the coziest little shadow you could ask for!

Since settling into his foster home, we've learned that Rubicon is a total lovebug who thrives on companionship. He adores being talked to and rides like a champ in the car. Rubicon enjoys short walks with his foster mom around the neighborhood. He has limited vision and sticks close to follow her lead.

Now that he's comfy, Rubicon has also found his voice! He's started alerting his humans when someone's at the door, but he's learning the "quiet" command and is getting the hang of it. A little background noise, like the radio or TV, helps him stay relaxed when left home alone.

Rubicon is a bit shy at first with new people, but once he gets a sniff and a moment to settle in, he blossoms into the sweetest sidekick. He gets along with other dogs just fine, though he's more about people than puppy parties. He's not picky about food and does well with regular potty breaks (every 2-4 hours during the day keeps him accident-free). Bonus: he sleeps like a dream through the night.

Rubicon is looking for a quiet, loving home where he can feel safe and treasured. Might it be with you?

To meet this sweet senior, please email placement@frostedfacesfoundation.org
