Roy is a smart, independent but also affectionate guy! He is a love bug once he accepts you into his inner circle. He needs someone who is willing to come in and work with him since he is skeptical of strangers. Recently, he has been known to to accept anyone pretty easily! He is very protective over his people and anyone looking to adopt Roy would need to be mindful when introducing him to new people. We believe because of his backstory that he is fearful of men although we have several male volunteers/staff that he has accepted with open paws! Once you have Roy's trust, he is nothing outside of exceptional. He loves his walks but is content to sit on a bench to cuddle with you! He loves going on car rides and feeling the wind in his fur and enjoys laying on the couch while watching a movie! One of Roy's most enduring characteristics is how he loves to be with you and will show that when he "puts the brakes on" when it's time to go inside. Roy LOVES his squeaky toys and sometimes finds some on walks. He takes his toys back to his kennel to add it to his "pyramid" of toys (seriously, he is a toy hoarder)! Roy startles at quick movements and will react so he will need a quiet home with no other animals or small children!
