Roxy's Story

Roxy (Roxanne) 🐾
13 years old | Female | ~46 lbs
Roxy is a sweet, easygoing senior who loves being around her people. She spends most of her time relaxing but still enjoys playing, especially fetch and tug. She has a lacrosse stick and ball she loves, and once a week she’s happiest running around a field for 15–20 minutes before settling back into her calm routine.

She goes outside a few times a day, usually just to do her business and come right back in. Walks are easy with her—she really just goes with the flow. On leash she may wander a bit side to side but overall does well, and off leash she sticks close and comes when called.

Roxy is very friendly and affectionate, and she’ll happily follow you from room to room just to be near you. She’s lived with cats and does fine, but she does need to be fed separately as she can be protective over her food. She’s also been to dog parks and prefers to stay close to her person, occasionally giving a small growl if another dog gets too in her face.

She can’t be crated due to past trauma and isn’t a fan of loud noises like vacuums or blenders. She will bark and jump when someone comes to the door. There is one known bite incident involving a child who jumped onto her back, so she would do best in a calm, adult-only home where her space is respected.

Overall, Roxy is a really good dog. She listens well, settles easily, and just wants a quiet, loving home to spend her senior years. She has no major medical concerns, just some fatty lumps that have been checked by a vet.
