Meet Roxbury! This 6-pound sweetheart is a "look but don't touch" kind of girl who is learning that the world isn’t so scary after all. While she is still finding her brave side, she has recently reached a huge milestone: she just started playing with toys for the very first time!<br/><br/>The "Roxbury" Experience<br/>Roxbury is the ultimate "velcro dog." She will follow you from room to room, right on your heels, making sure you're never lonely. She is incredibly spatially aware—despite her excitement to see you, she is graceful and neat. You won’t find tipped water bowls or messy floors with this little lady!<br/><br/>Her Favorite Things<br/>Treats, Treats, Treats! She is super food-motivated, which is the key to winning her heart and helping her learn new things. She’s learning sit, lay down, and bed. <br/><br/>Cozy Spaces: She loves her bed and burrowing into soft blankets.<br/><br/>Her New Toys: She is just discovering how much fun playtime can be.<br/><br/>Your Presence: She wants to be near you constantly, and loves lying next to her human and asks for pets now. <br/><br/>Things to Know<br/>The Great Outdoors: Roxy finds the outside world a bit too cold and loud right now but is becoming more brave to go outside. BIG UPDATE: she went pee outside for the first time! Luckily, she is a pee-pad pro inside and very respectful of your home (no chewing or destroying things). She’s also becoming more confident on a leash and walking outside. Baby steps…<br/><br/>The Feline Factor: She is currently undecided on cats. She’s wary of them, though she is slowly getting used to her current foster sibling.<br/><br/>Startle Reflex: Fast movements, loud noises, and even her own reflection in the oven door can give her a spook. She needs a home that moves at her pace.<br/><br/>The Ideal Forever Home<br/>Roxbury needs a quiet, patient "forever" person who understands that trust takes time. She would thrive in a home without small children or rambunctious pets. If you have a warm lap, a soft blanket, and plenty of treats, Roxbury might just be the shadow you’ve been looking for.<br/><br/>Roxbury is being fostered in Hartford, WI. <br/><br/>ADOPTION FEE: $750<br/><br/>To adopt the FIRST STEP is to complete an APPLICATION. <br/><br/>Adopters must be 24 years of age. We cannot adopt to families with children under the age of six. We also only adopt in WI, IL, and parts of MN. We are unable to guarantee the breeds of our dogs.<br/>WI License #270548.
