Rowdy's Story

Meet Rowdy! Don't let his name fool you, Rowdy is one of the calmest, most loving hounds out there. He can be a bit nervous with new people. He lived the first 10 months of his life outside, so it's understandable that he has some anxiety with all of the changes in his life. Once he knows you, he is just as fun-loving as his sister, Rossi! Since he lived outside, he is still working on his potty training. It is going very well, and we don't think it will take long at all for him to master it! He is VERY smart! Rowdy was said not to get along well with dogs other than his sister, and we are unsure about cats. He was said to do well with children, but since he is a nervous guy, it would be best for him to go to a home where the children are old enough to respect his space. Unlike his sister, Rowdy does respect fences and does not need to be leashed when in a fenced-in area. Rowdy has no dietary needs other than a slow feeder. He was quite thin when he arrived and got VERY excited to scarf down his dinner. He rides very well in the back seat of the car and does not move around much during the ride. On the ride to his neuter appointment, he did not utter a peep and was very well-behaved in the car alone for a few minutes while his sister went inside to get checked in. Rowdy is looking for someone to help him build confidence and show him what the spoiled life is like. Maybe that's you?
