Rowdy's Story

***COURTESY LISTING FOR PRIVATE OWNER***

Rowdy has been a cherished member of his family since he was adopted in 2019. He’s approximately 10 years old, about 60 lbs, and in excellent health—his vet frequently comments that he doesn’t look or act his age. He is UTD on all vaccines and is HW neg. (Owner will provide proof to potential adopters). He is neutered.

Rowdy is an energetic, goofy, playful guy who also loves nothing more than relaxing on the couch with his people. He’s a Boxer-mix with all the expressive charm that comes with it.
Rowdy is house-trained, leash-trained, and crate-trained, and he thrives in a predictable, low-stress environment. He has lived comfortably with our two cats and has done well in group boarding settings, though he can be selectively reactive with other dogs when out in public. He also takes his home-security duties very seriously—his deep bark makes him an excellent (but otherwise quiet) alert dog.

Because the owners now have a very young child, they feel they can no longer provide the safest environment for success. Rowdy startles easily and has had a few warning snaps/minor bites over the years, always in situations involving sudden handling or surprise. He has never shown ongoing aggression, and everyone who knows him— including those he has startled—still feels comfortable around him. He will do best in an adult-only or older-teen home where his boundaries can be respected.

Rowdy would thrive as the star of someone’s household—ideally with a fenced yard, plenty of space to run, and people who will appreciate both his playful side and his cuddly, loyal nature. Once he warms up, he is deeply affectionate, devoted, and truly wants to please. His owners want to find him the quiet, loving, and understanding home he deserves.

If you’re looking for a mature, fun, and loyal companion, Rowdy could be the perfect fit!

He is located in the Greenville, SC area. A home check and vet references will be required. Therefore you must be a reasonable driving distance from Greenville SC).
