Rosie's Story
Meet Rosie: The 80-Pound Lap Dog Who Missed the Memo That She's Not Actually a Lap Dog

Rosie's story started when a kind woman spotted a very skinny dog wandering the city streets all alone. Despite efforts to find her family, no one came forward. But don't worry, Rosie has put those days behind her, gained the weight she needed, and is now thriving while she waits for her happily-ever-after.

At just 2-3 years old, Rosie is a beautiful Cane Corso mix with a twist. Her DNA says Cane Corso, but Rosie apparently decided to create her own "fun-sized" version and tops out at around 80 pounds. (Don't tell her she's smaller than most Corsos. She's pretty sure she's still the queen of the neighborhood.)

Rosie is the total package: athletic, smart, loyal, and just a little bit goofy. She loves chasing tennis balls, going on long walks, and hopping in the car for adventures. If there's a road trip involved, Rosie is already calling shotgun.

This girl came to us with some impressive skills already on her resume. She knows come, sit, down, and paw, and she's always happy to show off her talents if treats are involved. She learns quickly and loves having a job to do.

Like many Cane Corsos, Rosie forms strong bonds with her people. Once you're in her circle, you're in for life. She's affectionate, devoted, and keeps a watchful eye on the people she loves. Think of her as your very own oversized bodyguard who also enjoys belly rubs and tennis balls.

Rosie has plenty of energy to spare, so she'd do best with older children who can handle her enthusiasm and size. An active family with large-breed experience would be her dream come true. She also enjoys running and playing alongside some of the other dogs in our adjoining play yards.

Rosie arrived with her tail already cropped and healed, but she hasn't let that stop her from expressing herself. She has mastered the art of communicating through happy wiggles, excited zoomies, and that unmistakable Cane Corso stare that somehow says, "Throw the ball again. Immediately."

Rosie has already overcome being lost, hungry, and alone. Now all she needs is a family to show her what forever feels like.

If you're looking for a loyal best friend, adventure partner, tennis ball enthusiast, and professional people-lover, Rosie may be your perfect match. Come meet her! You might just find your new shadow.

Helen O. Krause Animal Foundation, Inc. (HOKAFI)
813 South Baltimore Street
Dillsburg, PA 17019
Kennel License #3467
