Rosie's Story

Rosie is a sweet little Yorkie with a heart full of love and a gentle soul to match. This social butterfly absolutely adores her people and loves making new friends—both human and canine! She does wonderfully with kids, enjoys meeting everyone she can, and is happiest when she's close to the people she loves most. Whether she's joining you for a neighborhood stroll, soaking up cuddles on the couch, or simply following you from room to room, Rosie's devotion shines through in everything she does.

Rosie enjoys her daily walks, especially when the weather is cooler. On warmer days, she tends to slow down a bit, which is common for small dogs like Yorkies—especially since Rosie has been diagnosed with a collapsed trachea. A collapsed trachea is a condition often seen in small breeds where the airway becomes narrowed, causing coughing or sensitivity with heat, excitement, or overexertion. With management, like avoiding too much heat and using a harness instead of a collar, many dogs with this condition continue to live happy, loving lives—and Rosie is proof of that.

Rosie bonds deeply with her people and would thrive in a home where someone is around often, or with another friendly dog to help keep her company. She isn't a fan of being left alone for long periods and truly just wants to love and be loved. If you're looking for a gentle, affectionate companion who will happily snuggle up beside you and become your little shadow, Rosie may be a great match.

Stop by our weekly adoption events on Saturdays from 11:00-3:00pm at 372 Townline Road in Mundelein, IL 60060 to meet our adoptable animals in person.

Follow us on Facebook for additional updates and sneak peeks of new adoptables! https://www.facebook.com/reachrescue
