Meet Rosie: Professional Snorter, Lap Dog & Certified Bull in a China Shop<br/><br/>Rosie is one of those dogs who makes you laugh every single day. She's silly, stubborn, affectionate, rambunctious, and quite possibly convinced she's much smaller than she actually is. She loves belly rubs, being held, sitting in your lap, going for car rides, playing with balls, and following her people everywhere. She's even happy to tag along to work! If Rosie loves you, she wants to be wherever you are and preferably touching you.<br/><br/>She's also housebroken and crate trained, and once she's comfortable with you, she is an incredibly cuddly, devoted companion. Rosie can be barky when meeting strangers, but given some time to settle, her affectionate personality comes shining through.<br/><br/>Now for the important part: Rosie is looking for a very specific kind of home:<br/>Rosie currently lives in a multi-dog household and, while she can genuinely enjoy other dogs, living as part of a large pack has become too stressful for her. When she's comfortable, she'll happily play chase, snuggle, sleep alongside other dogs, and generally have a great time. She also doesn't seem particularly concerned about cats. However, Rosie struggles with confidence and some resource guarding. When she feels nervous, insecure, or threatened, she can react quickly and intensely—and once she's triggered, she doesn't always know when to disengage.<br/><br/>This is more than an occasional grumble or disagreement. Rosie has started fights with dogs of different sizes and has injured other dogs, including two smaller dogs who required veterinary care. She has also challenged much larger dogs who could seriously injure her in return. Because of this history, she cannot safely be left unsupervised with the other dogs in her current home. Which is why we're looking for something different for Rosie.<br/><br/>Managing a full household means Rosie currently has to spend more time separated and crated than we'd like. She's a social, people-loving dog, and we'd much rather see her enjoying life than constantly being managed around a large pack.<br/><br/>We think Rosie could really shine in a quieter, structured home where she can build her confidence and doesn't have to compete for resources or navigate multiple canine personalities. An experienced, adult home where Rosie can be the only dog would likely be the safest and easiest fit. Any home with another dog would require careful consideration, slow introductions, close supervision, and an adopter comfortable managing her history of dog-directed aggression. Her behavior around cats has generally been appropriate, but given her history, those interactions should also be managed carefully.<br/><br/>Rosie is strong, enthusiastic, and affectionately described as a bull in a china shop. She'll push, jump, and occasionally muzzle-punch her way into the action, so we're recommending a home without young children. She isn't exactly known for respecting personal space—or physics.<br/>Rosie isn't going to be the right dog for every household, and that's okay. We're looking for the household that's right for her.<br/><br/>Because underneath the insecurity and tough-girl moments is an unbelievably funny, snorty, cuddly dog who absolutely adores her people. Give her your lap, a ball, a car ride, plenty of belly rubs, and the security of knowing she's safe and loved, and you'll get one seriously devoted companion in return.<br/>Rosie has a big personality, an even bigger heart, and absolutely no idea that she's not a lap dog.
