Rosie 's Story
Meet Rosie!
Please fill out an application to meet her! https://www.welcomehomesanctuary.org/adoption-application

Living with Rosie is like having a tiny, 11-pound mountain goat who also happens to be a world-class cuddle specialist. At 8 months old, she has a very specific set of hobbies—namely, finding the highest point in any room (chairs, couches, or even the top of a dog crate) and surveying her kingdom like a little wiry-haired queen.

We rescued her from the streets where she was surviving on her own, covered in dirt and feces, and struggling with infections. But in just two weeks, she has pulled off the glow-up of the century. While her coat looks wiry and "scruffy-chic," she is actually surprisingly, incredibly soft to the touch.

Rosie is basically a professional traveler and outdoor adventurer. She is a perfect co-pilot in the car, looking out the window with curiosity, and she is a total superstar at the beach. She isn't afraid of the waves and stays right by your side off-leash, coming immediately the second you call her name. She even learned how to walk on a leash almost instantly and is a total dream on walks—no pulling, just vibes.

She is a total dog-enthusiast and gets along with everyone. Whether it’s wrestling and romping with her foster brother Onyx or meeting a giant dog for the first time, she is perfectly polite. She’ll stand still for a dignified "sniff-and-greet" and then immediately try to start a game of chase.

While she was cautious for the first two days, she now "smiles" and hops with joy when she sees her people. She is great with her pee pads and is the ultimate nighttime companion. She crawls under the blankets at night and won’t move an inch until morning—she just wants to be pressed right up against you.

Rosie is a "needy" sweetheart in the best way possible. If you sit on the couch, expect an 11-pound shadow to roll over for belly rubs immediately. She is extremely sweet-natured, easy to handle, and ready to trade her street-wandering days for a lifetime of blankets and high-altitude naps.
