Rosey's Story

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Rosey is a large-breed puppy who weighed in at 20 lbs at just 12 weeks, so yes she’s going to be a big girl! Her mom is an Old English Sheepdog and her dad is a Black Russian Terrier, giving her that perfect mix of fluff, smarts, and big-pawed charm.

Rosey is about 80% potty trained, sleeps through the night, and will whine when she needs to go out. She already knows how to sit on command and is very treat-motivated. She’s teething, so having plenty of chew toys around keeps her happy (and keeps your stuff safe!).

This girl loves everyone and everything. She plays great with other dogs, shares toys, and is full of joyful, goofy puppy energy. She can be a little dramatic if she doesn’t like something, she’ll “complain” with a funny little grunt (not a growl). She’s also a total foodie. Rosey eats with enthusiasm and will try to help herself to her friends’ bowls, so she’s currently fed separately and uses a slow-feed bowl.

Rosey’s coat is super soft with very minimal shedding, and she hands out kisses generously! Just know her kisses sometimes turn into tiny teething nibbles. She’s curious about everything, growing fast, and still has no idea how big she is becoming. Puppy-proofing is a must!

Routine & Home Life:
Rosey has not been crated because her foster is home all the time. She has full access to the yard all day, and she absolutely loves being outside, especially when the weather is cooler. Her daily schedule looks like:

6 AM: potty & breakfast

4 PM: dinner

10 PM: bedtime

She sleeps through the night and wakes when she needs to go out.

Rosey is incredibly sweet and affectionate, but she does get excited and can jump up on people, so she’ll need continued consistent training to help her learn polite greetings.

She’s playful, loving, energetic, and full of joy and she sleeps in the funniest way: pressed up against the wall, which you’ll just have to see to appreciate.

Rosey is ready to bring tons of love, laughter, and big-puppy happiness to her forever home. She will thrive with an adopter who has experience with large or giant-breed dogs, and will require continued commitment to training and socialization, and this will be a big part of application screening as we want to set you both up for success!

Important Adoption Note:
Because Venus is expected to grow into a very large adult dog, we are only accepting applications from current homeowners for her. This is not a standard requirement for our rescue, and renters are absolutely welcome to apply for our other dogs. For Rosey specifically, we want to avoid potential issues with breed/weight restrictions or lease limitations as she grows.

The adoption donation is $260 and will include spay, microchip and age appropriate vaccines.
