Rosebud's Story
7/17/25:

Foster or foster to adopt home needed asap!

Everyone, we'd like to introduce you to Rosebud, a Rebone Coonhound in a Beagle body! This sweet, young adult, petite (30#) hound was originally found running loose on a main road in Oswego County, nearly getting hit. A Good Samaritan picked her up and went door to door until they found her owner. Unfortunately, the owner didn't have time for her and they surrendered her to a friend of our rescue for rehoming.

Rosebud is currently in a temporary foster home where she is patiently (sort of) waiting for a loving family to take her in to a foster to adopt the home.

This little cutie is nose first and ask questions later. She is no nonsense when it comes to smelling ALL the smells and has been cataloging in the Syracuse area lately. There is so much for her to smell and see and smell again that she can hardly contain herself. That was at least until she found the toy bin, that posed a new challenge of all the smells to try and figure out. That has proven to be more than a single day's work, but rosebud is definitely up to the challenge.

Rosebud LOVES to play and dogs are her favorite with cats being a close second. She is inactive, affectionate girl, that will take any attention cast her way, and raise you ten kisses! Rosebud knows how to sit and stay and she seems predominantly housebroken, but coming when called seems to be one of her downfalls. When you have a nose as good as hers, some smells or just too much to ignore and you wouldn't want her to lose the trail of that rabbit or chipmunk, would you? (Insert "No" here).

Have you been looking for a Rosey cheeked (and bodied) girl (insert "Yes!"), who's the perfect travel size (insert "Heck Yes!!"), with the nose of a fine wine connoisseur (now we have your attention!). Are you looking for a reason to get up in the morning (possibly early morning, not like 10am) and get started with your walking routine? Do you like throwing inanimate objects around the yard, repeatedly, and seeing if they may make it back to you, perhaps a bit wetter then when you threw them? Do you think personal space is a myth and cheese has a place at every meal? If you answered "yes" to any of these questions, or even if you didn't, Rosebud may be the perfect new addition that you didn't know you were looking for!

( Rosebud loves to go outside, but does need either a fenced yard or a harness for walking since she can be a bit of an escape artist if left to herself. She likes people, attention, and family time but is not the best with boundaries.)

Due to her age, size and temperament, foster to adopt requirements are:

-Living within 80 miles of Adams, NY.
-Having previous/current pets in annually at a local veterinary office and up to date on vaccines as well as spay/neutered.
-Being able to bring her back to our vets office in Adams for additional care (spay/boosters) prior to adoption. After adoption, we recommend taking herto your current vet to be established.
-Rosebud does well with the dogs and cats in her foster home, and she would love a good playmate or two in a new home.
-Homes with teenagers should be fine since she does try and sneak out the door and small children may be a bit more accommodating to her escape route. Younger children will be dependant on the home/fence situation.
-Willing to have current family members come to a meet and greet to meet the pet and be sure an acceptable match.
-Having time available to care for, socialize and start the training of a new pet.
-Applicants with a fenced yard will be prioritized, since Rosebud does like to run if given a chance.

An adoption donation of $450 is being asked if you choose to adopt, but fostering is free. She will have her initial vet check and vaccines as well as heartworm preventative/testing once a foster is found. She will be spayed before her adoption is finalized.

Foster to adopt ?? https://form.jotform.com/Meowchatz/pet-adoption-application-form

To foster ONLY ?? https://form.jotform.com/Meowchatz/foster-application--acbs

-------

Please fill out an adoption application with your inquiry if you would like a response back, within 72 hours for our dogs. We get multiple inquires each day with only an hour of "free time" to volunteer and answer them around our full-time jobs and family life...don't let your inquiry get passed by because of an incomplete application.
