Meet Rose

Rosie has found a new home at Virginia Beach! She is enjoying time taking long walks and playing with Baron, her new canine sibling.

Rose is the newest sweetheart looking for a family to love! She is a 2.5-year-old collie with a beautiful blue merle coat as soft as a cloud. Rose is cuddly, social, and outgoing. She loves being around people and attaches to them like velcro! Several times a day, she may chitchat with you and ask, "Hey, whatcha doing?" in case she can be involved. She is a wonderful talker, and who doesn't love a collie talker? In the evening, she will cruise by smiling, hop up on the couch for a cuddle, and watch TV with you. Rose loves a good belly rub, so she will roll on her side and ask politely for one. When it's playtime, she enjoys fetching the ball and returning it. She also enjoys a good old fashioned game of tug-of-war with both people and other dogs.

Rose's ideal family will live in a single-family dwelling. She has a big voice and will let you know loudly when you or your neighbor have mail or a package. She has no fear of stairs, and will even jump off mid-staircase and make a spectacular landing. Her new house must be fully fenced in with a minimum 4-foot fence. Rose has been assessed by a dog-savvy cat and passed with flying colors, but if she is adopted by someone with a cat, she and the cat should meet first to ensure compatibility. She would do just fine with other dogs when properly introduced, but she would also do famously as an only dog.

She rides well in cars. She is a bit reluctant to get in, but she allows you to pick her up and place her into the car. And once you've arrived at your destination, she will jump out without hesitation. Rose has no problem at the groomer when getting her hair trimmed, and also walks well on a leash. She is not food-aggressive at all, and instead takes snacks with a soft mouth. It's safe to say Rose is quite well-mannered! She is housebroken and spayed. Overall, Rose is a well-rounded and awesome pup that anyone would be lucky to have as part of their family!
