If you're looking for a companion who is happiest lounging by your side, soaking up the sunshine, or enjoying a cozy nap, Roscoe may be your perfect match.<br/><br/>As a senior dog, Roscoe prefers a quieter lifestyle and enjoys taking life at his own pace. He has hypothyroidism, which is managed with daily medication and yearly veterinary testing to keep him feeling his best.<br/><br/>Roscoe can be protective of high-value treats and items he considers especially exciting, such as wild game. Because of this, he will do best with a family that understands and respects his boundaries around special treats. Because of his resource guarding, he would also do better in a home with no other dogs. We're not sure yet whether Roscoe gets along with children or cats.<br/><br/>This sweet senior is ready to spend his golden years with someone who appreciates a calm, loyal companion and is committed to helping him stay healthy and comfortable. If your idea of a great day includes relaxing with a devoted best friend, Roscoe would love to meet you.<br/><br/>Since many of our adoptable dogs are in foster homes, appointments are highly recommended to ensure the animal you are interested in is currently at the shelter. Please call or e-mail the shelter to set up an appointment to meet and adopt!<br/><br/>Our adoption fees include the following: all of our dogs/puppies are current on vaccinations (DHPP and Rabies if over 3 months of age) at the point of adoption, dewormed, heartworm tested and current on preventative, microchipped, treated for fleas/ticks and are spayed or neutered. Our large dog adoption fee is generally $175 + tax. Our small dog and puppy adoption fee is generally $300+ tax. Adoption fees may vary in special circumstances. Due to space limitations, we do not hold dogs.<br/><br/>Because we are on a busy street, we require that all dogs leaving the shelter be in a carrier or on leash. All pets remain up for adoption until an approved application is processed and their adoption fee paid.
