Roscoe's Story

Meet Roscoe, a laid-back Lab/Hound mix who has mastered the art of relaxation. If you're looking for a companion who is happiest lounging by your side, soaking up the sunshine, or enjoying a cozy nap, Roscoe may be your perfect match.

As a senior dog, Roscoe prefers a quieter lifestyle and enjoys taking life at his own pace. He has hypothyroidism, which is managed with daily medication and yearly veterinary testing to keep him feeling his best.

Roscoe can be protective of high-value treats and items he considers especially exciting, such as wild game. Because of this, he will do best with a family that understands and respects his boundaries around special treats. Because of his resource guarding, he would also do better in a home with no other dogs. We're not sure yet whether Roscoe gets along with children or cats.

This sweet senior is ready to spend his golden years with someone who appreciates a calm, loyal companion and is committed to helping him stay healthy and comfortable. If your idea of a great day includes relaxing with a devoted best friend, Roscoe would love to meet you.

Since many of our adoptable dogs are in foster homes, appointments are highly recommended to ensure the animal you are interested in is currently at the shelter. Please call or e-mail the shelter to set up an appointment to meet and adopt!

Our adoption fees include the following: all of our dogs/puppies are current on vaccinations (DHPP and Rabies if over 3 months of age) at the point of adoption, dewormed, heartworm tested and current on preventative, microchipped, treated for fleas/ticks and are spayed or neutered. Our large dog adoption fee is generally $175 + tax. Our small dog and puppy adoption fee is generally $300+ tax. Adoption fees may vary in special circumstances. Due to space limitations, we do not hold dogs.

Because we are on a busy street, we require that all dogs leaving the shelter be in a carrier or on leash. All pets remain up for adoption until an approved application is processed and their adoption fee paid.
