Roo's Story

Meet Roo! Roo is a German Shepherd Dog mixed with some Catahoula Leopard Dog, American Pit Bull Terrier, and Border Collie who came to us from Yakima with his 7 siblings. His approximate DOB is 12/5/2025 and we think he will be at least 50 lbs when fully grown.

Roo has lived with several different fosters and has done so well with everyone! He is doing great with crate training, potty training, and leash walking. He loves to nap and snuggle with his people in between play time and adventures. He is a very curious and food motivated pup looking for his forever family.

Roo’s current foster says: “He has been such a good boy. Super cuddly, likes to sleep on top of people, and one of the most intelligent puppies I've ever worked with. We've been doing training and he knows sit, down, touch, and stay very very well. His touch is actually so good that I can yell "touch!" from another room in the house, and he will come running to me every time, which has been great for recall. I would definitely say that Roo is going to be the perfect dog, but he is so smart he gets bored easily, so would certainly do best with someone willing to continue his training (which he is so so so good at).”

We think Roo would do great solo or with another dog in the home who doesn’t mind the puppy energy. He has been around cats and does very well.

Since Roo is still a baby, we expect adopters to continue working with him on all the usual puppy things (potty training, crate training, leash walking, confidence building, etc.).
