Roo's Story

Meet Roo, one of HSSC's current long-term residents. When people ask us why Roo hasn't been adopted yet, we really don't have a good answer. Is she too pretty, too fun, too smart, and too sweet? She's chock full of amazing qualities.

Roo needs to be the only pet in the home. She has a proclivity for chasing cats. When it comes to other dogs, Roo is pretty unbothered; she can go on walks where other dogs will be nearby, and she'll just keep doing her own thing. She goes for weekly field trips with one of our volunteers who always comments on how lovely she does with her counterconditioning. She's learned that seeing other dogs means it's time for a treat, which is great! However, given how much Roo LOVES to play with toys, she isn't great at sharing them with other dogs. She does not mind sharing her toys with her human friends.

Roo spent some time in a foster home and they reported the following:
"Great walker, as you know, passes dogs without issue. Will chase cats!
Is able to be in a closed door crate when needed (will yell about it, but when you return, is sitting calmly waiting and wagging)
So playful, loves tug and will actually fetch a toy or a ball.
Her hilarious traits include: standing on her back legs to look out the window, appears to be half human.
Snuggling on the bed in the morning, love nips and nuzzles"

Miss Roo is more than ready for her new home.
