Meet Roo

Roo

Roo is a female Sharpei mix around 7 years of age

Roo initially came into rescue 5 years ago from London Animal control where she was an unclaimed stray. After spending some time in foster care she was placed with adopters into a loving and active home. Over the last 2 years as their lives shifted and changed Roo began to develop anxiety while alone and was struggling in her environment so with the best of intentions the adopters tearfully reached out looking for assistance in finding Roo a better suited home.
Since arriving back to us, we have been plugging away at crate training again as she was reported to scavenge for food and chew on baseboards while loose and alone. We have had great days and bad days through the crate training process. She generally will bark when first put away and can chew on the bars or look for weak points she thinks she can squeeze out of so monitoring her as she settles is very important. Once settled she sleeps soundly through the night. She loves having her meals in her crate and cuddling with her stuffies.
She is spayed and up to date with vaccines but did require some teeth extractions when she came back into rescue which has been completed by our vet. She has bounced back from her dental procedure and is now feeling great.
Roo is my best walker on a harness lead and loves to be outdoors.
She loves cozy pillows and blankets. Adores cuddles and attention and is awesome with kids young or older. Overall she is an extremely loving dog with so much love to shower those around her.
She doesn't have much interest in playing with toys or fetch games but does love her bones and stuffed toys. She is also interested in any toy that dispenses treats/food.
She know lots of commands, sit, down, come, wait ect. and is a gem for grooming and vetting activities.
She is fully house trained and has had no accidents since arriving.
She is overall a really great dog who just needs to find calmness while alone.
We would love to see Roo find a furever family who can get her out each day for a good long walk, engage in adventures and play dates with her and allow her to snuggle in all the cozy couch spots. She would also thrive most in a home where she doesn't have to be alone for long periods. She would enjoy another dog or children in her furever home but these things are not a must if the right family comes along without these dynamics.
Roo has been vaccinated, spayed, microchipped, heartworm tested, treated with Flea, tick and heartworm prevention, and vet checked.

If you think Roo might be the right dog for you we'd love to hear more about you. Applications can be completed online at www.paws-united.com

The adoption fee is $600 and includes spay/neuter (dogs over 6 months), vaccines, heartworm test (dogs over 6 months), deworming, Flea and tick prevention and microchip. Please visit www.paws-united.com to fill out an application.

**Please note we DO NOT adopt our dogs as outdoor/farm dogs. These dogs are coming to us as stray, roaming or dogs that have lived a life tied to a chain. Unless otherwise stated we will not even consider a home that has intentions of leaving our dogs outdoors or tied to a chain**
