Ronan's Story
Ronan is waiting for his forever family, he is so ready to go home. Ronan is very polite with other dogs he meets but in his home, he is pushy about getting all the attention, but responds well when told to back off and wait his turn. He's got typical young male dog energy but isn't too hyper. He's very athletic and can clear a 36" gate inside the home and will counter surf he's left unattended. Once he bonds to his family, he will not go over a fence to leave his yard but he should never be left unattended outside. He's not great in the crate - he will go in and be ok fbut eventually starts whining and pawing at his bed (but is not destructive/chew, just paws at the corners of the crate). He wants to be with his person and does better if the crate is located where that is the case. Once he settles in and learns his place in the home, he will only need the crate when no one is home. He LOVES his person and doesn't want to be away from them. He's a follow you from room to room velcro boy.

Ronan has never shown any resource guarding of food or toys. He doesn't love nail trimmings but hasn't tried to nip or bite when getting them sone. He hates baths and even wiping him down he will run away. But his fur is so short, he doesn't really need much grooming. His leash walking is better on the gentle leader as he still pulls to explore things on a regular collar. He's good at staying close and very good with sit, down, wait, come and will wait before eating and at the door until released. He loves to go out and be about with others and has done well at events with lots of people and other dogs. He is slow at first to warm up to strangers but once you let him come to you, he will lean in for pets and be your best friend.

Ronan is a beautiful boy with a lot of love to give, he needs a leader and with that will be a wonderful companion. Please consider Ronan, he is waiting for you!

Please include your home area code and a phone number where a volunteer can reach you when contacting us about an adoption.

For more information on this dog and our adoption policies, visit MAGDRL at https://www.magdrl.org.
